Ottawa’s population is set to increase 40% by 2046. In a city that’s declared a climate emergency, we must prepare for tomorrow’s growth today. We need to build new homes through densification and not urban sprawl. We need to spend less on widening highways and more on transit and active transportation.
As your councillor I pledge to protect our greenspaces. After launching several green initiatives in my own community, I want to get communities across Ward 9 involved in developing community gardens and expanding our urban tree canopy. And I want to study programs happening in other cities on local food production, recycling, and waste management, and to bring proposals for installing those programs in Ottawa.
