Elder Abuse Awareness & Prevention Seminar

This event has already taken place.

PLEASE NOTE: To attend this online event, please RSVP on our Google Forms and we'll send you the Zoom link a few days before the event.

Elder abuse is a growing concern among Ottawa's older adult community, and the situation has only worsened in recent years due to a loss of provincial funding for resources to address this crisis. Elder abuse can take many forms - physical, psychological, financial, neglect - and the sources and causes of elder abuse are wide and varied.

Our office is pleased to be hosting an online Elder Abuse Awareness & Prevention Seminar on Monday, March 24th, from 1:00pm - 3:00pm. This will be a free online event open to the entire community, but several local community associations in Ward 9 will be hosting live viewing stations at their community centres for those who wish to participate "in person". Here is a list of the community associations who will be hosting live viewing events:

  • Trend Arlington Community Association / Trend Arlington Community Centre / 50 Bellman Drive
  • Manordale-Woodvale Community Association / Margaret Rywak Community Centre / 68 Knoxdale Road
  • Tanglewood-Hillsdale Community Association / Tanglewood-Hillsdale Community Centre / 30 Woodfield Drive
