Join us on Monday, August 24, for a Public Information Session on the Viewmount Drive Traffic Calming Project. This will be an online Zoom meeting starting at 6:00pm. The Zoom link is below.
This project is still in the planning phase, with final design phase and construction not expected until 2027. City of Ottawa staff will present the recommended traffic calming options for Viewmount Drive (between Merivale Road and Fisher Avenue), discuss feedback received through the public consultation process, and answer questions from residents.
City staff will demonstrate that Viewmount Drive has excessive rates of speeding, and a high record of collisions. With concern over traffic safety high among Ward 9 residents, this project aims to address those concerns by improving safety for all road users, while putting measures in place that will effectively reduce vehicle speed along this corridor.
