Our office is partnering with Foodsharing Ottawa for the 2nd edition of their Potato Rescue Project. Following on the success of their previous campaign in May, Foodsharing Ottawa has once again managed to get 42,000 pounds of surplus potatoes delivered to Ottawa from a generous farmer in Manitoba. These surplus potatoes will be distributed to food cupboards and other organizations across the city. It's a great way to address food waste and food security all in one project. Councillor Devine is very pleased to partner on this event, and to have secured partnerships from the City of Ottawa, and from Erb Transport.
